Bum Knee
I haven’t been able to run for several days due to a bum knee. I’m right now (as I type) icing it.
I did get on the elliptical this evening for 40 minutes. It bothered me some but not enough to make me want to stop.
I worked out pretty good (on the upper body). That was good. As I kicked it on the elliptical I watched “el espinazo del diablo”, That’s...

The Thunderbolt Sampler
<the pic above is of my mapped run>
My run today was 13.33 miles through Thunderbolt. I started my run from the alley behind my house and ran around the little park that my dog, Mr. Gypsy, calls his ‘personal toilet’ and then, up Bonaventure Road to Victory & beyond.
I ran over the Thunderbolt bridge into Isle of Armstrong where I ran to the shore of the Wilmington...

The Birds!
My run today was kind of a joke. I did my typical 5.57 mile run at the rails but I stopped so many times—not because I was tired but because I kept getting distracted by millions of birds, the fresh scent of the ocean wafting through the trail, insects every where, a pretty lady and her two dogs, prayer flags that I stopped to read. You name it, I stopped for it. Still though,...

If you’re looking for an all-natural way to lower your cholesterol — in addition to watching what you eat and exercising — there are plenty of dietary supplements on the market that claim to do the trick. Fatten up
Monounsaturated fats found in olive oil, fish, nuts, and seeds have been shown to lower the risk of a host of age-related diseases: arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, and even Alzheimer’s. So if you still have an aversion to the F word, it’s time to get over it. Your appearance will benefit, too: The more omega-3’s (mostly found in fatty fish like wild...

Drink green tea
Packed with potent antioxidants called catechins, green tea may be the single best age-defying substance you can put in your mug. Sipping just one cup a day will decrease your chances of developing high blood pressure by 46 percent; drink more and you’ll reduce your risk by 65 percent. What’s the best of the best? A study in the Journal of Food Science discovered that...

This video clip I took at the end of the rails to trails using the camera on my iphone. The quality isn’t good but you get to see a little of the rails to trails in Savannah and, the shrine & prayer flags that are at the end of the trail.
There are 297 prayer flags out there as of 9/01/2009.
This is a great place to run or bike at or, simply a very nice place to watch the sun set. ...
